Scandinavian?
« on: July 18, 2013, 01:42:04 PM »
Bought this cheap because I like the colour and style, can't find much in my books or on web - anyone recognise it? It's 11 inches high not cased - just very yellow LOL

Adam

Hi Adam, they used to sell these at Ikea not too long ago I think, not sure if they still do.

Just came across this during my morning searches:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Collectable-Anne-Nilsson-Scandinavian-Retro-Yellow-Glass-Vase-/370857341155

It has two labels - the standard one found on glass from Ikea (and possibly elsewhere) and another which states "Design Anne Nilsson".

Bit of info about her here (assuming it's the same Anne Nilsson): http://www.pyramid-glass.co.uk/designers/anne-nilsson.php

That Anne Nilsson label has that re-stuck look though...

True, but so does the other label from what I can see, and they both kind of match (black and clear plastic) so maybe it's just the result of washing the vase.  Need to find another one with the same labels now!

Found this from 2010:

The Anne Nilsson label isn't shown, but her name is mentioned.

Edit - Also, scroll half way down this page: http://blogs.cotemaison.fr/cmadeco/tag/vase/

Edit 2 - Shown with the wider green version: http://www.dba.dk/vase-anne-nilsson-2-glas/id-1001741470/

These were on sale until fairly recently in Ikea, they dont seem to be in their current product range: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/decoration/10769/

I bet we see some of those vases cropping up here soon though. ;D

My advice: never buy anything which has a clear bottom. It is spray coloured. Even if Ms. Nilsson designed it, it is the Chinese who produced it.
