Caithness Paperweight Moonflower Gold Unmarked

Hi can anyone tell me were these marked moonflower, were any left with no marks, I have one it has a Caithness Sticker CG and the weight itself i cannot see any marks at all. Its definately a moonflower gold.

I actually know the answer to this." Since 1970 the firms "millefiori" paperweights have been signed with a"CG" cane"

This info is directly from the book Paperweights of the World , by Monica Fleming and Peter Pommerencke

So if it's a Millifiori and a cane---well there you have it

Hi CML.

I don't think 'Paperweights of the World' is correct on this particular matter.  There are a number of Caithness millefiori designs without a CG cane.

Regarding Caithness Moonflower paperweights (and other designs such as Maydance), I have had several examples with no marking on the base - most likely early examples which only carried stickers that went missing.  Remember too that there is also the possibility that seconds, marked 'CIIG', have the base re-polished.
