giant Bambu?
« on: August 13, 2013, 01:57:37 PM »
Hallo,
I bought a giant (40cm) glass vase at a flea market the other day, and I thought it might be a Bo Borgström Bambu. But I cannot find any information about a Bambu in that size.... so maybe it is not after all? Maybe someone can help me out with identifying this piece?

Thanks in advance,
Johanna

hello Johanna  -  welcome to the GMB :)

I've had a look in the 'Fire & Sea' book, and although I'm not remotely clever on Scandi glass, have a feeling yours isn't a 'Bamboo' vase.
The Aseda product has a very substantial clear base, and should have a hot finished rim.
Although there is a failry tall example from the Swedish factory, but it seems to have only two hoops instead of your three, and the rim appears less flared than your example.               In fact would appear that all the different sized 'Bamboo's' have two hoops, no matter what height they are. :)
