Id needed for signed black & white cameo cut vase
« on: August 21, 2013, 09:53:15 PM »
Just bought this vase on ebay without knowing who the maker was. Thought it looked to be very well done and had to have it. The signature or initials are in the pictures if you scroll toward the bottom of the listing.
Thanks for looking and any comments are much appreciated.

I like it! Has that abstract feel about it   Possibly Murano at a guess  ::).  Here are some sites that may assist you with narrowing down your search:

The vase is supposed to be cameo so I do not think it is murano and the signature just does not match up on either of the sites.
I also thought Correia but still the signature/initials/mark just does not match.

Am hoping once the vase is in my possesion I'll be able to describe it better.

Thanks for your reply/comments.

Possibly Pilgrim glass or there were a few other studio artists doing this work in the US during that period of time.

HELP ID SIGNATURE Please!!!
« Reply #4 on: August 28, 2013, 02:03:39 AM »
Size -  13-1/2" tall and 5" in diameter.  The walls are over 1/4" thick and it weighs 5 lbs. 7 oz.

A Finely Executed Acid Cut-back Cameo Glass vase featuring highly Stylized male and female nude figures.
Very nicely done with shades of Glossy and Frosted Black cut back to Frosted Opaque White.  4 separate panels, two men and two women.
Note how the men's arms go into the panels of the women and the placement of their hands.  Very cool and playful and just a little suggestive and sexy.
 Any comments welcome and appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony

I was watching this on ebay and wondering when it would end up on here.   :)
Lovely vase, but couldn't work out the signature.

Have tried all kinds of combinations and still have not solved this mystery signature but have not given up just yet. Surely someone will figure this out but until then I'll keep on searching.

The vase is very well made and is much nicer than the pictures show.

Am so glad I bought it. ;D

The signature seems to be "leah" to me but I have no ides who she might be.  I assume a USA artist from the placement of the signature.  Oh by the way I considered trying for it myself - really liked it.
