Orrefors ‘Selena’ bowl?
« on: August 26, 2013, 03:20:38 PM »
Fully signed underneath with ‘Orrefors P U 3092/1’. Am I right in thinking that this is a Selena bowl (Swedish, designed by Sven Palmqvist in 1946-48, based on the above information etched underneath - unfortunately the photo doesn't show this very clearly!) because I can’t find any reference to it being made in blue before, only in light grey and red.
Diameter is 215mm. Hope somebody can help.

Usually in moonstone opal glass - hence the term "selena". These bowls have been made in a great variety of colours. I have one in two-tone smoke and blue which is not recorded anywhere so I would say, yes, selena, correct.
