Hi all,this is an elegant looking piece and i'm thinking mid century Italian,so it probably isn't :),has anyone got any thoughts,many thanks

Thanks john,i've been looking at Empoli and i can see what you mean,they certainly did a similar colour and style,but i can't find anything with the lines on the handle yet..
