Murano(?) - delicate bowl / candle holder with one murrine
« on: September 29, 2013, 12:31:02 PM »
Thinly blown bowl / candle holder with wide flat rim, greenish-grey glass, small polished pontil mark, decorated with one big murrine in red and blue.
Diameter 17.5 cm, height 8 cm.
The holder for the candle came loose when I cleaned the wax out, it was just glued on.

My research showed that this style was used by Ermanno Toso in the 1950s:

but also by Pietro Pelzel / Lino Tagliapietra for La Murrina in the late 1960s:

The overall shape and the style of the murrina looks more like the Tagliapietra pieces...

Any more info highly appreciated as usual :)

Thanks,
Michael
