At first glance one is tempted to suggest a Finnish firm like Riihimaki.  Your photos are sized too small to see details well.  You need to aim for just less than 125Kb size which commonly is around 500x500 pixels.  If you are unsure how to achieve that check the reference section above.

Also you could assist by a clear photo of the RIM of the vase as the different treatments sometime assist us.

Those were my first thoughts too.  My only concern, is the lower area nearer the base on the Riihimaki vases I've seen, are clear and I'm uncertain if your vase is cobalt.  I am not too sure ::).  I can only share with you that I too have a similar vase, although the design and colour is different. referred as a Scandinavian baluster vase.  Probably around the 60's.   I'm sure Ross or other GMB members will be able to shed some new light on yours and probably mine, ;) once you have posted improved images.  Unable though to find your particular design during my search, however, here is some pictures of what I believe to be a cobalt vase, that I have had for a good number of years now.   Sorry I can't be of any more help.  :)

The problem lies in the copying of styles by other glass houses.  If it were Finnish I would have expected the rim to be ground flat.  It could easily be Japanese, Polish, or even perhaps Italian.

Sorry I can't help more.

Ross.

PS>  Work at making the photos even bigger.  I noticed that even with the last three you could have had the size 10x or so .  125Kb is the limit. the first photo is only 11.6Kb or so.

I wouldn't worry kieren,  I've had lots of unidentified pieces over the years.  That to me, is the exciting part.  When bored and not made any purchases, I tend to go over unidentified pieces and managed to find information.  Wish you all the best with your collection.   :)

Yes, Otis is right in his remarks.  It can be very frustrating to find out about something - even if it is signed.  For instance I have a large paperweight that I "feel certain" is from the Glass Eye Studio - but they examined the pictures and said "no".  I still feel it is one of theirs - who else would bother to make one just like the others I had seen on their site?

By the way I have helped two people identify pieces some 5 years after the put them up on the board - both signed as it happens.  So you never know when a newbie (as I was) will be able to make a positive identification.
