Circular verticle ribbed vase - Purple rim to Blue base
« on: October 09, 2013, 03:14:18 PM »
A pretty heavy vase for its size - measuring 12.5cm tall, the base is flat and clear. I am unsure if it is Murano?

They could be from Murano, that would be my best guess as things stand. I had one a few years ago and there was some thought that they may be Czech but I think that is considered less likely now. I have seen a few more in the meantime and they also crop up in amber and green.

Thanks John, they appear to be a good quality piece of work to me and as I said, pretty heavy for their size.

Yours looks to be similar to the table lighter in the link in this picture (which I hope is allowed?).

Thanks santaR, It does seem to have more than a passing similarity to my vase. I will look down the Barbini route.

I suspect these may be Japanese due to the way the colour blends from the purple to blue. If you search OZ ebay, you will find similar examples like this.

I have seen pieces similar to yours listed here a few time in this colour way and amber & green. I suspect Sanyu for these but can't confirm as no labelled pieces yet :(

I agree with Kane that is possibly Japanese.  Say Kamei, Sanyu or Hineri.
