Yes EDA i have one , i believe Dunne Cooke had his hand in it as Whitefriars made an identical one later he was involved with both firms .

Thanks JP, interesting slant re the whitefriars  connection. Is the number 37 on the base the model number or the Year ?

I will look mine out tomorrow I think its the year , not long before DC went to W/Fs  he also did decanters with Jazz figures at Eda I had a pair , then Jazz figures turned up on W/Fs drinking items a short time after DC went there .

Sorry but I do not think that this is a Whitefriars item.
The style is too different from their items as bowls produced by Whitefriars were almost all smooth sided in this size and shape.
Check-out the early (64/69) catalogues on the Whitefriars.com site to understand where I am coming from.

See the 1938 W/Fs catalogue pattern 9090 first page , yes the one above is no doubt Eda , then W/Fs did one almost identical , I believe under the influence of Capt H J Dunne Cooke  who was a director of the Eda group and went on to WFs as a designer jp . Thank you Christine .

Previously has a 9090 from Whitefriars and, from my recollection, the sides were rounder and convex, rather than concave, if you follow my meaning! It was more like a slightly squashed circle! I also cannot remember the strong ribbing beneath.
However, Whitefriars copied many designs (allegedly) and this may be one of them that they adapted to suit their own style.
Great to have a constructive debate.
