And mine has 6 points, with 6, slightly concave edges.
Which fits with the 6 lines on the surface of the base.
I can't actually work out how the stem and bowl were joined in the case of mine. I do not think it is glue. I can see straight through the base of the glass, and through the stem to read the mark on the base - but the bottom of the bowl, while flat, is ridged. It must have been joined with heat - is it "incalmo" when it's joining a stem to a bowl in a glass?

What is the base of the bowl on yours like?

Got to say my glass craft knowledge is poor to say the least Sue,the base is a moulded with two seams and two false seams going over the top of the foot  and same as you i can see through to the the foot, the bowl must be a separate mould, mines a square shape at the bottom of the bowl evolving to round at the lip, there is that furry wear on the base that could hint at some sort of age or the previous owner was an alcoholic  :)

Mine has 2 genuine mould seams on the base part too - they got around the outside of the circular part in the middle.

This is not a common sort of construction, and I do think it is a complex one. I'm pretty sure yours must be Riedel.
Why not write to them and ask?
