Bowl ID Help please :)
« on: January 22, 2014, 10:41:33 AM »
Hi again from Ireland .

This bowl is orange / amber in colour .

It is ribbed with a darker amber highlight which waves with ribbed design. There is a ground / polished pontil there are also a few other grind marks to the base , are these possibly pointers to a maker ?
There is plenty of matting to the base .

Much to my children's delight it has quite remarkable acoustics , it will ring like a bell for a long time when struck.

This measures a little over 6" high by 9 1/8" across .
There are a few bubbles within the glass  .

Any help would be great , I'd thought possibly 1940's Chinese but I'm only a novice !

Many thanks , Dave.

think I'd agree with Christine  -  according to Jackson, would seem produced during the 1930's only.

Dave.
