un-identified markers mark. ID = Island Studio Glass, Guernsey
« on: January 24, 2014, 06:02:06 PM »
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me identify this glass vase, the stamped seal mark on the base of the vase looks like, either 3 rabbits, 3 dogs or 3 reindeer depending on which member of my family you are, I have tried searching on the net but come up with nothing, I would love to know more about this glass works.  I will try and put up a photo of the vase but I can't get the file size small enough at the moment.

Thanks

We know this one, even without a pic. of the whole thing! Guernsey glass.
I think it's supposed to be 3 lions. I see three men in a boat.  ;D

Yes it is three lions ... but most people seem to view them horizontally (which some then see as "rabbits") instead of vertically (with the tails uppermost over the body).

The design is based on the Royal Arms of England and in heraldic terms are: "lions passant guardant".

That is brilliant thank you both so much, they also look very like these statues they have in Redruth Cornwall made from Wellington Boots, yes I know sounds random but they are cute.
