Murano - "Crystal Clear"
« on: February 10, 2014, 11:38:42 PM »
Hi all,

Here's a question.

There seems to be a longtime Italian studio/factory named Crystal Clear.

Almost everything I've seen from them has a tag "Murano Glassworks  made in Italy". But here's one that says "Murano Style Made In Italy"

Here's my guess, they aren't on the Island of Murano, but located close by, so the name of the Company is Murano Glassworks, not location. And the Italian govt said they had to say Murano Style, since it's not from the Island.

Also, is this a "Chinese" company with an Italian factory?

My recollection is that your idea that they are made in the Murano style elsewhere in Italy is correct. I believe Anita (TxSilver) has found some info on this company. Not Chinese.

I also think Crystal Clear is a brand rather than a manufacturer, so perhaps not just one manufacturer

Are they the same ones in TK Max. Lots of the labels say in Italian 'in the style of'.  Some very nice pieces and some really bad pieces.
Pete. :-)
