Hi Steph

I don't think these can be easily attributed to a maker, they are not hand made and are made in many thousands for the gift market. The glass is placed in a device which has two lasers at 90degrees to each other. They then move following a computer programme firing tiny laser bursts, where the two meet a tiny crack appears in the glass, following the programme they create the image.

Mostly they seem to be rectangular or square rather than round as yours is. In A previous business I had I could get these made with company logos in for business gifts fairly cheaply.

Hey Nick Agreed, I see these laser etched type weights all over, but this one is a bit curious because it shows light yellow signs of aging.
When I bought it I had a difficult time determining wheteher it was frit, or just an amzingly clear laser etch?!
Its quit hard to see the discoloring in the light....

So yes I think it could very well be laser etched, but Nick, I keep having this intuitive hunch that tells me it may not be what it seems....

I might try differant picture to give you better idea of why i keep coming back to this odd ball frog

Hi Steph,

It's definitely laser etched, I've watched being created, there would be no way of  suspending glass frits in that manner and encasing them in glass. The yellowing is probably just a poor glass mix rather than aging.
