Thanks Sue. I have emailed you. Regarding the IOWSG forum, the system they used was hosted by http://www.createaforum.com/. I can ask on the site's support forum if they keep archived copies. I'll also ask Tim Harris if there is a chance of resurrecting the forum. There was lots of good stuff there and it would be a shame if it is lost forever.

I've replied. 

The only vaguely "official" mention, ever of the "Seawood" name was on that thread on the IoWSG forum.
It came from David Tolley, who had asked Elizabeth Harris about it, but I don't know what words she used.
It might have been mentioned as Seawood on the Archive site when I bought these bits, which would have been why I was querying, and it might well have been a typo there.

It wasn't ever used officially, and I think it should be allowed to die.

These strapped pieces are simply early experimental things, which, when simplified, led to Aurene.

At least with this one, the origins are known and it was only ever a vagueish rumour, it has NEVER been confirmed as being official, it was never used officially.

It needs stopped before it gets any further.

There is no Seawood!

I think that summarises it beautifully - although I'm not sure that "Strapped Seawood" was ever used anywhere as you said in the opening sentence - it was Seawood or Strapped Aurene that were supposedly interchangable if Seawood ever existed, which it didn't. Perhaps if Strapped Aurene were used in the first sentence, it would be cleared up and laid to rest, once and for all!

I have pinned this down at last.    It was originally 'Strapped Seawood'. Then it was 'corrected' to 'Strapped Seaward', surely a mistake since the pictures supplied by Sue do not resemble Seaward.

I have gone to the Wayback Machine, which archives the internet, and found the relevant archived IOWSG web pages.

'Strapped Seawood' was used here on 26 May 2006:

The archive pages vanished ages ago, my memory was not serving me well, Anton. But it was after all, 2005.
All I get for the 2008 change link is;

"Hrm.

Wayback Machine doesn't have that page archived."

Whatever, neither Seawood or Strapped Seawood ever really existed. It was a mistake on the archive pages, instigated by Elizabeth Harris - and an easy sort of mistake to make.
