Looking in Pamela's book, this does look very much like the Richardson design from 1886 - pattern No. 10242 - and the height given in the book is 10.5 cms., so agrees with yours. It seems to have been a design characterized by this vertical white ish stripe - the book shows what appears to be a cranberry ground coloured example.
Other factories did make these squat shaped vases - S. & W., T/Webb, Stuart, but the Richardson designs seems to have the most 'squashed doughnut shape'.
