Kastrup /Holmegaard cobalt bottle/vase
« on: March 28, 2014, 05:10:05 AM »
Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me identify this beautiful cobalt bottle of mine please.  Unfortunately it doesn't have a sticker but I think I have found one the same on a site called

http://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/more-furniture-collectibles/apothecary-jars-objects/large-cobalt-blue-holmegaard-kastrup-glass-bottle/id-f_725744/

Just hoping someone can confirm it and maybe give me an approx value.  It's quite big, about 39cms high.
Thanks so much  :)

Welcome to the forum.

Any moulded marks etc on the base?

For the most comprehensive website regarding Holmegaard see: http://www.hardernet.dk/
There is a bottle section their too.

Hi John, thankyou for the welcome and the info :)
I had a look on that site, I couldn't see it. The one that I think is the same has a Kastrup sticker
on the base.
There are no moulded marks or anything on the base.

Send a polite email with photos to Peter Harder at that site.  I have found him to be very helpful in the past.

You should find it under ´Gulvvase´ - they also come with this kind of neck.  :)

My impression is that Gulvase (look under Brauer in the Hardernet site) has a somewhat elongated neck, Dirk.

Oops, I should have looked on the site!  If it is large enough it will be a Gulvase.  Apologies, Dirk.

Don´t worry, Ross...  ;D Sorry for the late reaction. Been terribly busy over the last weeks and obviously the
´a reply has been posted...´-thingie is turned off.  :)
Personally I was quite surprised also when I discovered the variety of shapes of Gulvvases.
