Not seen this one before? searches don't throw up many examples though 6 were made in the 'reflections' series.

Hi.

According to the second edition Charlton catalogue they made 1,970 of the 'Fleur' design for the Royal Mint in 2001. The catalogue shows a patchy frit background rather than spaced millefiori, so it is possible that the design varied within the near 200 examples they made.  If yours does not say Fleur on the base, it is possible the paperweight and certificate do not match!

The photograph in the catalogue might be a little misleading: I have images of two others of this design - both in good agreement with the images posted here.

Hi Alan, Came boxed but the box says C1/96 with Mini Moonflower on a paper label so obviously the wrong box :) The ticket does say Fleur Limited Edition 1970 which is indeed correct it also says First issued in 1987 " A stunning combination that forms a superb marriage of the traditional and modern style paperweight"

The base is etched Caithness Scotland 'Fleur'  Royal Mint.

I managed to find an example on line with the flower and the frit back ground this looks like frit towards the base but it is in fact more canes that have been pulled and stretched?
