Czech Vase, help needed IDing designer please
« on: April 27, 2014, 06:44:43 PM »
Hi All,

I bought this vase yesterday, I think its a Czech vase, but, Its not a design I have seen before, or remember seeing before, so i could be barking up the wrong tree. The vase is very heavy, bird bath base and pressed and stands 8" tall. The design features 8 sides with the circle motif. Could one of the Czech glass collectors help me ID the designer/maker or point me in the right direction to track down the maker.

Cheers in advance for any help,

David

Not Czech but Finnish I think.

If memory serves this is from the Rengas series by Riihimaki. I'm sure this pattern has been on the board before. It's worth having a quick search and checking out www.designlasi.com

 :)

Hi Steven,

Brilliant, thanks for the quick reply and ID ( and the links to former board enquires ) Would never have guessed it was a Riihimaki vase by Tamara Aladin. It was Riihimaki glass that started me off on collecting glass and this will be a nice addition to my collection.

Cheers again, David
