Murano Cenedese Glass Paperweight?
« on: July 03, 2014, 11:25:16 PM »
I bought this piece at a Garage Sale recently, and I was wondering if it was REAL Murano Glass & if so, what it is worth?
Thank you for any help provided!

I have a cenedese paperweight with an earlier but similar label and notation. I'd say the numbers rroresent the year. Ie 1984. No idea of value though. But it's very nice.

Hi.  We do not do values on this board, but 'don't book the cruise'.  I think a case of 12 tinnies would be more appropriate! Remember Murano is probably the next rung up from Chinese - but no more -  when it comes to typical values. There are a lot of them about...

Cenedese is a good name from Murano and I would not include this weight with run of the mill Murano weights. Some paperweight collectors may well turn there nose up at it, people interested in Murano glass would probably think of it differently.

I would have been very happy to buy it for the equivalent of '12 tinnies'.

John
