Topic: Bank Holiday Car boot buys

I'm back!! And so are the car boots at last. No lovely Riihimaki for me but on Saturday I picked up a Whitefriars ruby duck for £2 from a dealer whose pottery was expensive and did  not know what the glass was. Yesterday a lovely Murano dish with the silver and colours in it for £2 and today a green uranium depression glass vase in Poinsettia pattern for £2.50-before the rain started ugh. I think I've had a great weekend!

Well done Pat – the WF duck in particualr was good! I think the uranium depression glass is Hazel-Atlas?

Well I don't know a lot about depression glass as regards identifying the makers I'll try a pic in a bit for you.

Ok the colours not showing well but it's pouring with rain and IO can't get any good light. But here it is. Also I forgot I bought a n Isle of Wight glass mushroom and one with it unidentified. Any hel on the unidentified mushroom would be appreciated.

Your green uranium glass vase is by Jeannette Glass Company and very desirable over the pond, although not desperately rare here. Made in the 1930s, the pattern is Floral, sometimes known as Poinsettia, although they're actually passion flowers (never did understand that one!) Possibly (Note the possibly) worth up to 50 times what you paid for it if in excellent condition. See ebay item 7417706554

Well I guessed it MIGHT be worth a bit as I had a pitcher like this some months ago with several chips which I ebayed. It went across the pond for about £53.

Not all green Floral is so desirable. What you really want is the three-footed rose bowl complete with frog or the 11 inch platter with facetted rim! :shock: although a 5.5 inch pitcher is quite nice

Hi all just come across this old message regarding Depression glass which was very interesting to me as I have a Green poinsettia vase three footed complete with frog in perfect condition which I bought for a few pounds in a charity shop last year and this morning I bought a crystal Poinsettia Flared vase about 6 7/8 inches high. Have I stumbled on something rare ? Help please !!
