Glass dish ID please
« on: August 03, 2014, 09:15:50 PM »
Hello!

Could you please help me identify this beautiful dish.

It looks like a pier painted on it? It measures 4" diameter and 1" from rim to base in height.

Thanks,

Rachael

Rachael, it looks like St Mark's Basilica in Venice to me... compare the image here:

Venice souvenir confirmed, and it is not recent. I believe the white enamel lace-like decoration dates from the 1930s, perhaps earlier.
