Topic: Tall amber/brown Uranium crackle jug

Nice jug in amber/brown Uranium crackle glass (the green glow is quite strong in mere daylight, see pic 3).
Height 26 cm, quite substantial; neatly polished pontil mark to the indented base.

Any help with age and maker highly appreciated

I checked the makers mentioned in the thread you linked to, but nothing similar popped up...

I know --  jugs are difficult, and everybody did crackle glass
Still somehow I had hoped the amber Uranium glass would point towards a maker / region / timeframe.
(And searching google, there doesn't seem to be that much of it around).

But as Christine (from Uranium Towers) hasn't responded, it seems quite difficult to attribute...

I had never seen any amber Uranium before, so I was quite intrigued when I spotted it at a carboot sale, shimmering green in the sunlight.

I read here on the board that Webb made glass in this colour, but I guess there were other makers.
I usually don't expect to find any British glass here in Vienna, but who knows...

For what it is worth, Kralik also made some amber uranium glass. This jug does not look like their production to me though..... but if they did, then I am sure there are others in the region that used it......  I have only seen a couple pieces of it by Kralik.

That nice circular pontil mark looks a little "Lötz"-ish...

Does anybody know when amber Uranium was used / popular?
I would think my jug probably dates from the first decades of the 20th century.
Or was the colour still used after WW2?

The examples I have seen by Kralik were from the 1920's....  for what that is worth....

Of the two Rimac Lotus hyacinth vases (1960s) we saw (and bought) at Utrecht, mine is very much amber-brown and glows extremely well. Crackle is just another production stage, but it does raise the odds, I'll admit.

Just for reference, I thought I would add one of the Kralik examples. This one had the arched Czechoslovakia mark Kralik used mark on it. this example stands at about 5 inches.
