Miloslav Janku elephant?
« on: August 18, 2014, 05:54:42 PM »
And todays question; Just bought this pink elephant from ebay described as Zelezny Brod by Miloslav Janku. Can't say for sure yet whether it's got neodymium in it (changes colour) or not. Do we think it is by Miloslav Janku? Can't find one like it elsewhere. It's unfortunately not signed. Opinions valued.

Lovely beast.  :)

I'd say it is Miloslav Janku.  You can see a very similar one in the 1987/4 edition of the CGR on Jindrich's site:  1987/4 CGR elephant

A few weeks ago at the market, I saw a beautiful and huge bull like the one in the CGR ( picture 8 ).  Unfortunately, he was missing both horns so he didn't come home with me.  Sigh.

Anik

Anik, thanks for your reply - it should have occured to me to look at Jindrich's site in the frst place, this is almost identical to mine. Google searching and book reference didn't come up with this particular elephant, although I did find other animals by Miloslav Janku which I'd like to get my hands on. My elephant is rather nice - I hoped by its look and the lines of it that it was genuine Janku.

Glad I could help.

By the way, I don't know why my comment above has a smiley face with glasses...  I meant to say picture 8, but I guess the bracket turned it into a cool guy.  [Mod ... the "cool guy" has now morphed back into "picture 8"]
