Not  sure is it a student  piece To ....... from John or a proper piece made and gifted to someone?
Hard to photograph looks a really deep amber but in the light it as a petrol blue shimmer and little yellow Silver salts ? blobs rather like Mdina the dented sides seem to have frit that looked like it's rolled/marvered into the surface glass.
