plese help identify this green pitcher
« on: September 16, 2014, 05:21:31 PM »
Hi again,
I recently found this large green glass pitcher, I thought it might be Victorian and from Bohemia since it looks similar to the 'Mary Gregory' jugs attributed to the same region/period. It has a very nice 'celery'/reeded applied clear glass handle. Although the base has no pontil mark or signs of polishing, the stratification in the glass and lack of mould marks lead me to think that it's blown. I hope somone can help with age and ID and even an idea of how it was made.
many thanks
nick
