Topic: Mini aged Chinese?

Hi all,i really like this little Chinese weight a tad under 1.5"and to me this looks an older vintage,but what caught my eye, apart from it's neatness for one so tiny, are the pink canes surrounding the central red one,is this unusual,many thanks.

I think it is older, maybe 30's or 40's.
