Paul S. showed a mould blown glass shaker by Schindler & Co., London, RD 216626 of 11 August 1893. The RD number is etched on the base.

In the replies to that topic, Anne provided the information that:

More searching brings up a lot of information in German about there having been Schindler glassmakers in the area since 1552 [one example here: http://www.riesengebirgler.de/gebirge/Glas/Glasmacherfamilien.htm] and Petr Novy in one of the issues  of pressglas-korrespondenz gives Schindler as Glasfabrik AntonÃnodol, Schindler & Co., Jablonec nad Nisou but I've not found any more yet.

http://www.great-glass.co.uk/glass%20notes/mans-s.htm says that :

Schindler & Co, London, England (1890 - 1913). Possibly the London office of a Bohemian manufacturer. Registered 61 designs between 1890 & 1913. Company listed as 'manufacturers' on all but one occasion, when they were listed as 'importers'

Now here are four more pieces (all presumably from various cruet sets) bearing design registration numbers (all etched on the base) from Schindler & Co.:

Here is a (presumably perfume) bottle from a design registered by Schindler & Co., RD 381210 of 8 Oct 1901, etched number to the base. Stands just over 4 inches high (including the cruciform stopper, which the owner assures me is the original).

Does anyone have a similar bottle with a label that may provide additional information (especially about the contents, possible perfume house, retailer &c), please?

The vases (pics. 2,3)were found on UK E-Bay. 8" tall, in clear shading to green at the bottom, mold blown, with a ridge pattern on the four corners, and a British DL hallmark for 1907. The shape corresponds to Welz-attributed vases.

A little known fact which has come to light recently deals with the relationship between Czech glass and British silversmiths. It has been established that David Loebl imported Czech glass into England through a firm called Schindler & Co, located in Jablonec and London. The glass was fitted with British hallmarked silver, which included his initials. Thus, the DL on any British hallmarked silver rim is a clear indicator of a Czech provenance.

The most prominent producers of panel-cut glass in the Jizera Mountains were the export houses of Eduard Dressler and SCHINDLER & CO. we learn that

Ambitious Bruno Posselt began to manufacture and export hollow and pressed glass, especially crystalware, between 1919 – 1920. In his glass-cutting shop, whose equipment was powered by electric motor, in his fire polishing shop and in trade, there were employed around fifty people until 1945. Initially, he focused mainly on low-cost production including uncut so-called sandpapered products that were prohibited after the workers´ uprisings in the spring of 1927. After 1938, Posselt became a very active member of the NSDAP (Nazi Party) and that´s why he got in the early 40s „aryanization credit“ of CZK 2,5 million, interest-bearing just 5,5 %. He used the credit for getting the glassworks with glass-cutting shop in Antonínův Důl near Jihlava, which then had an annual turnover CZK 1,3 million (BEFORE NAZI OCCUPATION, THE FIRM HAD BEEN CO-OWNED BY JEWISH EXPORT COMPANY SCHINDLER & CO FROM JABLONEC) [my emphasis]. The businessman became the big businessman. The steep rise, however, was followed by rapid and deserved fall. After the war, Posselt was sentenced by special court in Liberec. His firm on the basis of the Beneš decrees became property of state and at 1st January 1946 was incorporated into the national enterprise Krystalerie.

A silver-rimmed glass pot in the shape of an owl which carries the design registration number 416529, registered by Schindler & Co. on 4 September 1903.

The owl is made from clear moulded glass, and has large amethyst glass eyes (which look as if they have been applied separately). Approx dimensions are: 7 cms high, 5.5 cms width base, 4 cms width top. The base has been ground flat and polished.

The rim is simply marked ‘SILVER’.
