Pws? Grave Markers? Id Help
« on: September 22, 2014, 10:04:41 PM »
I collect PWs mostly mosser, and degenhart, I picked these up and am lost?  They are small, about half the size of a degenhart, and half as tall.  They came from southern Ohio, inside is what looks like paper, i can see wrinkles.  And they say "in loving remembrance of " and then names.  One is Margert Maria Stone Died april 23, 1882 aged 43 years 3 months 8 days.  The other says the same thing, but a different name and dates.  They have what looks to be old paper or felt on the back that is almost all wore off.  I do hope someone knows what they are.

Glass has always had a fringe following for funeral momento industry. Gives you nice dated examples.

Whoever organised the funeral would have paid for them... so not particularly given away unless perhaps they had a prize competition at the funeral of course ;-)
