Topic: russian green art deco? bowl

This bowl mesures 23 cm/ 10 cm and has 14 facettes.

There is no sign on it. I suggest Moser, Meyr's Neffe or Haida. Is there anybody out there who knows something about this extremly heavy (1,99 kg) thing?

Panel cutting was very much en vogue in the 1930s and there were many companies who indulged in it - most of which unknown and unfamous.  I very much doubt if you'll be able to pin a name to it....

But the rim is made in the same style.

I can not see any description on ebay. Is it a transmission faillure and can anybody else see a description, size etc.

As far as I can translate the German description, I think it says it was made  by Meyr's Neffe and designed by Joseph Hoffman Wiener Werkstatte around 1916.  It gives height as 70mm and diameter of 183mm.
I have no idea if that description is correct.

It is also marked with the WW stamp, which is a giveaway.  The description would be correct for the blue bowl. The green one, however.....    and as for the rim, all panel cut glass is finished that way.

I guess it's very difficult to pinpoint these pieces.  The green one seems to be thinner and of a different shape to the blue.

yes, it has a different shape.  But it is as thick as the one offered on ebay. May be good, may be anything, i know.

Perhaps it is not marked because of a great bubble in the glass.
Perhaps it is Josephinenhütte.

I think it might be difficult to pin point the maker for your bowl (I'm still trying to id a perfume that is panel cut amethyst and also has even
been decorated, but no luck )

Your bowl is elegant and at nearly 2kg that's quite a hefty size.  I hope the WW lead might help you id it at some point -perhaps using the shape and the size to help.
