Odd-looking blue vase with white swirl -- Jan Exnar?
« on: October 11, 2014, 01:42:12 PM »
Hello,

I bought an odd-looking vase which is cobalt blue with a huge white swirl going around it. I was hoping it's a Jan Exnar piece for Beranek glassworks, but am now wondering if it was just wishful thinking on my part.

The piece is very tall at 42cm tall, but isn't particularly heavy at 1255g.  (I expected it to be heavier).  The base hasn't got a bevelled edge though the inner rim has.   On the other hand, the swirl seems to be made in the same way as in Exnar's silly birds -- you can feel it when you run your finger against the glass.

I've looked high and low, but haven't found this vase anywhere.  There are only similar pieces on the Beranek Glass website, 3rd link, 3rd page: http://www.beranekglass.com/

I appreciate your help and comments.
Anik  :)
