Stevens and Williams Jewel Pattern? help please.
« on: November 05, 2014, 04:48:48 PM »
Never seen this before in old glass, i think this is Victorian although it looks brand new. In Gulliver page 119 it looks similar to Stevens and Williams jewel pattern. It reminds me of 1960's control bubble.

Some wear to the base with a polished pontil.

6 inches across the rim and roughly 2 inches in height.

 :-\

I may have to modify my thoughts about only Monart/Carder/Schneider?etc being a precursor to studio glass and add S&W. (Was Carder there?)
Moulds may have been used, but these still are amazing pieces of unique hot work by individual glassmasters are they not?
The posys are more like sea urchins, quite an alive and "coming-to-get-you" sort of feel to them. ;)
