Topic: French or Bohemian? Trinket/Ring Box

Picked this up the other day & not certain if its French or Bohemian so I welcome all suggestions. I believe it’s a trinket or ring box as its dimensions are rather small, height & length are both 3 1/8” while width is 2 1/8”.  Cutting is very small & am not getting results for written wording on the lid as I must be substituting a wrong letter somewhere along the line. Thanks for the help. Ken

Hi Ken,
Think the last word reads 'Baden', so German/Bohemian I would presume. Here's another variation.....

Greg. thanks for the link...looks as if its German, the RL pricing seems a bit optimistic as mine was approx 10% of that. M the print is at least in the ballpark as far as resemblance goes so thanks for the lead.  Ken.

Ken, I'm sure it is a souvenir from Schloss Eberstein.  What's amazing is that the engraving (mid 1800's) and the box both have the castle from the same angle. 
It might be interesting to look at  current pictures and older pictures of Schloss Eberstein to see if you can date the box  more closely than '19th century' if the building has changed over time. Perhaps 1850 is when the box was made as the depiction is very similar to the engraving.

Près = Bei in German - so the titles match.
Date wise,  think Franco-Prussian war.

M I found only a couple of of photos, however it has not changed dramatically just a few subtle ungrades/renovations which is suprising although a bit expected since its a tourist type compound. Cannot believe you were able to recognize it as there must be numerous facilities in Germany much like this one...thanks again for your help. This one I'll keep since its a somewhat early example of a European vanity item. Goes well with a couple of pieces of Palais Royale figural perfume sets I've kept.

From the Karkonoskie Museum -
a photo showing some red overlay trinket boxes - I think the label says made by Gräflich Schaffgotsche Josephinenhütte c.1850.
Obviously not identical to yours but nice to see some in a museum - also, check out the cameo work dated to the same period, on the tankard and the picture - amazing stuff.
