The Paperweight Mall
« on: November 19, 2014, 02:44:19 PM »
Hi everybody.

Does anyone know more about what's happened to this very useful website, full of links etc to other paperweight sites?

http://www.jhpaperweights.com

It looks as if the owner has issues with his web host privider about site size.

Great pity if it does not reappear.

Thanks

Keith

It is not the size of the "site" that is the problem it is the amount of bandwidth that has been used by people visiting the site they have exceeded their limit for the month.

Different hosting packages, have different bandwidth amounts, so have unimited depending on which package is paid for.

I would expect the site to be back once it resets for a new month.

Thanks for that and the explanation.

Looks like the more successful the site, the sooner it gets switched off each month!

And I've shot myself in the foot by drawing attention to it ...

Hi.  It has some useful links, but I am surprised that a site that is basically designed to harvest eBay Partner network fees is not set up with unlimited bandwidth. Seems to be rather self defeating to be out to generate income, and then fail to pay enough to keep it online.

I'm surprised they have metered bandwidth at all. The vast majority of hosts now provide un-metered.
