Uranium glass Murano czech? small ruby bowl help please.
« on: December 05, 2014, 07:48:53 PM »
Having spent some time looking for this I have give up, a real lovely piece of well made glass, the outer glass is uranium and the inner ruby red, i'm guessing 50's in date, a smooth polished base with no wear, it looks brand new.

4 1/4 inches across and 2 1/4 inches in height.

regards Chris.

I'm not sure about these. They seem terribly common and also come in blue. I wonder if they actually are new

I think this is later than the 50's by the colourway. Originally designed by Flavio Poli and  produced by Seguso. The original 50's version has purple instead of red and less of it to mimic the colour of the water lily i.e more green . I think yours maybe 70's when the sommerso colours got alot louder.

I have one of these with an AVeM label >> Link
But I have seen others with different labels.
So maybe produced by several companies...?

Is there a reference for the Seguso / Flavio Poli attribution?

Michael
