ID help - Figural bear paperweight with signature "A" cane
« on: December 26, 2014, 11:17:21 PM »
Good day,

I'm not finding a match in Dohan's "Dictionary of Paperweight Signature Canes". Is any one familiar with the maker?

Many thanks and Happy New Year!
Eric

Thanks Tantoday,

Ableman crossed my mind but then did he ever use signature canes. Could it possibly be Jack Allen? Or it reminds me some what of pieces made by Orient & Flume... Anyone know of any artist connected to O&F who might haveade this?

Without the cane I would have happily believed it was an O&F piece, the style and quality is all there.
Just a thought,  could the A cane actually be upside down and be a bull's head with horns?? I'm just trying some lateral thinking here,  but will carry on looking for A cane artists in the meantime.

Could it possibly be Jack Allen?
No. Jack Allen (Scotland) used a "JA" cane.
