Scottish pwt - but who and when made? ID = Caithness
misha:
I'm advised by a friend that this paperweight is of Scottish origin, but we are not sure from what factory it came from or who may have made it.
There are no viable markings on it, just that sun warning sticker that indicates to me any etching couldn't have worn off.
m1asmithw8s:
Selkirk. Selkirk placeed 'do not place in direct sunlight labels'.
chopin-liszt:
But so do Caithness. I'm sure this is either Caithness, or Border Art Glass.
I think I'm correct in saying this is neodynium glass - that would be another + for Caithness.
Have you trawled through the images in Scotland's Glass yet?
pooleandpaperweights:
Very definitely Caithness, and really isn't Selkirk.
pooleandpaperweights:
Oh and I have never seen a "direct sunlight" type label on a Selkirk weight, and I own about 200 of them......
