Scottish pwt - but who and when made? ID = Caithness

That's the link to Caithness weight images. I suspect this is fairly recent, if that helps any.

Yes Sue, 100% correct. The last side views image taken under fluro lamps, the rest were afternoon sun.  Distinct colour change.

Internet slow here tonight, but I'll take a look through image search terms your suggesting when I can on a faster pooter, maybe tomorrow. Can't say I've seen similar yet, in my lookin.

The lack of any acid etched or engraved manufacturer is problematic for ID.
Caithness I've seen, very few indeed, have had acid etched ID on base.
Was that treatment standard over the years?

It is Flower of Scotland by Caithness, first issued 1994.

To make things a bit more confusing - Selkirk also produced a somewhat similar Flower of Scotland (attached image) in 1999.

Not all Caithness weights were signed, but most. Unlimited weights (like this one) may not have the name marked, but a running production number (letter first, followed by up to 5 digits). No marking at all might indicate a second with the "not selected" label "fallen off".

One thing I must say. NO shortage of imagination when it comes to just this single manufacturer of paperweights!  These could be highly addictive. Best I limit to one for now.
