Painted glass ;-)
« on: January 21, 2015, 05:57:39 PM »
I don't know if I am allowed to post this here, but as it is still a glass ID request...

I recently bought this small oil painting for a few Euros at the fleamarket; obviously not for the high artistic quality of the painting, but for the unusual subject -- 3 (likely) Bohemian Art Nouveau glass pieces.
The perfect decoration for a glass collector's home :)

Any of the experts able to match the items to a company / decor? (I would think Loetz or Kralik "Pampas" for the tall blue one)

Sorry, I am unable to provide a pic of the base ;D

Thanks,
Michael

Perhaps Kralik Bacillus for the vase on the left, colours would fit anyway. ;D

The one on the right I think is Kralik as well - that opal colour base with the bright green spots all around the base and the vertical stripes - I can't remember what the decor is but it's kind of like a green version of Helios with stripes :)
A lovely painting Michael :) - great find.

Thank you both! :)
So most likely all 3 are Kralik then.

Michael I cannot find a definite Kralik id for the bowl on the right.
The decor is shown in Das Bohmische Glas Band IV page 225 as Anonyme Produktion in both white with orange spots at the bottom and the white and green spots with the maroon vertical lines as in your painting.
I'll keep looking. Perhaps it wasn't formally id'd that I saw, just someone pontificating that it might be Kralik.

Thank you very much m for doing more research!
As it is more or less a just-for-fun request, please don't put too much effort in it ;)

misha: the painting is illegibly signed, but not dated...

Have you had it out of the frame?
Might be hidden frame or canvas wrapped around the stretcher.
So it goes.

Dear Rocco,
The two pieces on the left might be French Art Nouveau cameos? The casual rendering of their surface decoration might be a loose interpetation of a floral motif?
