Trinket set powder bowl in green glass with metal lid - Regent of London
shereea1:
Anne & Jayne,
I'm sorry about that Anne.
I just got Jaynes email she sent me yesterday, so I have managed to shoot them across to her. Looking forward to seeing the pics up here Jayne.
Jayne, if you have issues with them, would you mind passing the pics on to Anne?
Thank you to both you wonderful ladies, your help is very much appreciated :-*
Cheers!
Jayne:
Great stuff Sheree, I will add your pics here now. :)
Green Glass Lidded Jars with Guilloche or Guilloche Style Lids, stamped underneath "Made in England"
shereea1:
Thank you Jayne, for putting my pics up. I don't know what I was doing wrong :-[ Obviously a lot....
Pity about the lids huh. They have a couple of layers of whatever the silver stuff is, it appears the top layer has been melted or something. Anyone have any ideas???
Thanks again Jayne!
Jayne:
You're welcome Shereea, there is a topic here with lots of help on pics. Personally I use Picasa, which is free, and which makes it quite easy to reduce file sizes, just use the "export" button (slide to 800 is usually about right).

The pots are lovely. :) I don't know what can be done about the lids I'm afraid. :(
Anne:
No worries, we're always happy to help, and as long as someone does it that's the most important thing. :) I was out most of yesterday so am only just now catching up again. (Jayne thank you for helping out. 8) )
Your pots look like a match for mine for sure but mine aren't marked at all, so I presume same maker but different mould. That we are looking for a British maker is a step forward though, and we know they aren't in the catalogues of Sowerby, Davidson, Jobling or Bagley, so that's four down. There is still Century, whose catalogues we don't yet have access to, and several smaller / less well-known glassworks, so for the time being they will be mystery no. 61 still.
Re the lids - the one on mine is an insert - it looks like some sort of card with a guilloche pattern (faux guilloche?) - it's certainly not genuinely enamelled guilloche. The insert of mine has come loose. I suspect the lids on Sheree's are of a similar construction - perhaps a foil over card (or composite) backing? Once damaged I don't think they are repairable, which is a shame. Sheree may I add your pics to the listing on the GTS site too please? Mystery no. 61 on GTS
Jayne & Christine, thanks for the info re Regent of London - now I've seen the pics I remembered about them! ;D
