unusual Libbey
« on: February 21, 2015, 06:31:37 PM »
I found 5 open handled Libbey 10-12oz clear glass.  Four of them are
the same size, one is smaller.  The tip of the handle on the smaller one
is about even with the rim.  Here's a list of them:

8.80  oz  4.5” by 2.5"

8.45  oz  4.75 by 2.5"

8.75  oz  4.75 by 2.5"

8.65  oz  4.75 by 2.5"

8.80  oz  4.75 by 2.5"

All have the same unusual Libby mark seen in the link below to my album on Flickr.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately your pics do not enlarge so I cannot make out marking. If its a cursive L or LG then its the regular Libbey commerical marking. If they are Libbey they are simply open stock commercial utilitarian grade sold by Target, Wally's World, etc. & there are hundreds of Libbey commercial utility patterns. The majority (99%) of Libbey production the past 30 years as been utility glass.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.  I am certain it's not stock Libbey.

I'm not sure why you are unable to view my images via Flickr.

The logo is Libbey's cursive L with a incomplete circle around it with the number 4 bisecting the circle on the left and what appears to be the number 0 on the right.  Thanks again for taking the time to look.

Libbey has numerous factories all over the world. These appear to be stock Libbey but may have been made in different factories in different countries and that may explain the difference between several of your pieces. Molds produced and run in different locations could result in this. Send an email to Libbey and see if they give you a response to your questions.
