Aventurine - English or Venetian
« on: March 09, 2015, 05:53:11 PM »
Dear All,

initially I thought this was 50's venetian, Salviati however the more I research it I am drawn to English, Victorian and possibly by Sowerby. The cherub prunts and use of aventurine are signs.

I would be delighted to hear any views on this.

Kind regards

Andrew

We really need better pictures, the right way up and against a plain white background with more item. It's really hard to even work out what it is. And always a base shot. Dimensions help too

Amen to that. Not to be overly critical, but why posters continually fail to rotate their pics to view properly is beyond me. Any photoshop type program that is either commercial or comes with a digital camera may be used & it only takes a few seconds.

My ancient lap top can do great pics all rotated good the right way  but my new one with Window 8 regardless of how I photo shop or rotate they come on here the way I originally took the pic, is it a software issue?, i'm assuming others are having the same trouble when uploading, judging by the amount of lopsided pics.

Bruce you might try googling your problem concerning windows 8 as that should not be happening.

Whatever the problem may be with rotation of images, try putting the photo through www.picresize.com and use the "rotate" feature to get a pic that will stay "upright" when loaded here.
