Everytime I try to post a photo it says the attachment size is too big...This is with only one photo? Any ideas and help, gratefully appreciated.

Hi Simon,
welcome to the board!

The limit for an individual attached image is 125 kB (you can add up to 4 images to each post).
Almost any imaginig software should work, just change the size of the image so that the longest dimension is around 700 pixel, and save / export the file as .jpg in medium quality.

Oh, I nearly forgot.
My Grandmothers, can't decide if its new or a 1960/70's piece. The label on the base is a platsic type so probably not 50's?..
The label on the base is marked...'V A' , then under it 'verre', under that is what I think is the name of the design of the vase but all that's left is.....'...lle bouche'. There are obviously letters before the 'lle', so the vase would translate as 'something mouth'
I have drawn a complete blank.
