Welcome to the forum.

Some more information could be useful. Are there air bubbles in the glass and how tall is it? A photo of the base too please. Do the metal fittings look old?

John

Thanks John loaded with swirls and bubbles very uncontrolled, bubbles are very tiny to 1 1/2' across, you can feel the swirls on the outside, base is ground, the hardware is older, the socket and harp and are most defiantly an add or retrofit,  the threads do not match up at all, a set screw is needed. Most of the glass lamps without bases seem to come out of Italy, lamps measure 9" high X 8" wide regards Joe.
