Green vases with limpet prunts help please.
« on: April 20, 2015, 01:53:31 PM »
A recent Ebay purchase, I've had a good look around but can not find anything similar, anyone have any idea's.

There looks like limpet shaped prunts on the outer surface of the glass.  There is also  a lot of base wear and dirt trapped between the folds of the prunts which make me think the vase have some age. The pontil is polished but not to a mirror finish and they have a nice ring to them and no water staining.

The large vase is 8 1/4 inches in height, 6 inches across the rim and 4 1/2 inches across the base.

The smaller vase is  6 1/4 inches in height, 5 inches across the rim and 3 3/4 inches across the base.

Regards Chris.

Both the colour and the pontil finish suggest Empoli verde. Never seen this type of prunt before.
