2 Scandinavian Glass Pcs - 1 Signed - Maker?
« on: April 20, 2015, 07:06:43 PM »
Hi. Picked up these 2 nice pieces of Mid Century Glass over the weekend. The pitcher is signed and stands 8" tall. The blue piece is unsigned and stands 6" tall. Can anyone help ID the makers? Thank you!

The amber one looks like Kaj Franck for Nuutajarvi-Notsjo Glassworks in Finland.  Can't help with the other.

It might be worth checking the signature out, parts look a little shaky compared to others I have seen.

Can't say I agree with Greg re the signature. However, the blue bit is interesting, it looks very much like a Dartington FT4 decanter missing a stopper (and flange on the neck) but it is just too small to be an FT4. Colour looks good for Dartington, this needs it's own topic.

Hi John,
I think the signature is probably ok on reflection, I think this is part of the 3 piece Kremlin Bells decanter produced between 1957 and 68. Also shown on page 120 of Andy Mc Connell's 20th Century Glass.

So it is, the blue bit sits in the top of the amber section. With no stopper, I would go back and hunt for that stopper!

So would I, quite a desirable item I would think  :)
