Hi,
Sue - not sure if you mean there's not a picture of the base of the ebay one - there is if you scroll down  - it looks rough - almost frosted  :)

Roberta, Jan has added the photo of the base right after I had asked him  ;D

Sue, yes, also this Romanian vase shows a slight iridescence.

Jan bought this vase here in Northern Germany about 25 years ago.

Perfect for this (lovely) genre of glass.
The proper base, the proper iridesence, the proper bubbles, the proper colour, the proper age - and a LABEL.
Yippeee!

Thank-you so much Pamela, and your friend Jan.

Confirmed Rumanian. Maker still unknown, but definitely Rumanian. ;D 8) ;D
I'm a very happy bunny.

Confusion over!! Thanks for clarifying Pamela.

I must admit I have been tempted by these pieces a couple of times - have seen them wrongly attributed but didn't know so at the time - was just suspicious as no-one bid on them! Anything with lovely bubbles.......  ;D
I'm sure next time I see one I'll have completely forgotten what they are!

Pamela, could you please ask Jan if copies of some of his eBay images could be used in the Board. That way we will retain the evidence of attribution.

Kevin, I guess you know how to draw these images from that auction (I don't  ??? ) - otherwise I'd ask for copies.

Thank you so much Dirk, Pamela, Jan for finally solving this ID challenge :)
Glad I didn't make a complete fool of myself when I told the guy in the other thread that the vases he had bought as Barovier 1940s were very likely of Romanian origin...

Resized and optimised copies of eBay images are added here for confirmation of the Rumanian attribution.

I'm a very, very happy bunny. My sincere thanks again to Pamela, Dirk and Jan Kilian.
This mystery has been bothering me for years and years.
They are lovely bits of glass and need to be properly recognised. :)
