Whitefriars 9099 with Logo
« on: April 27, 2015, 02:07:03 PM »
Hi

I picked up this Whitefriars 9099 dish today as I have never seen one before with a logo where the pontil mark normally is. I am assuming that this is a piece that they did specifically for a company, but is this unusual as I cant find any online?

Also does anyone know whos the logo is as I can't place it? Though I am sure I recognise it.

The third image is of the logo flipped the right way round as this makes it clearer than through the bowl.

Thanks for any help.

Stephen

I have seen them before.

There was a discussion on Whitefriars.com at some point but I am not sure they ever pinned down the company involved.

I was going to say it looks a bit like Bentley (the car dudes), but I stand corrected.

That is usually how it is (mistakenly) described on ebay listings.  !!!!  Grrr!  :o

But the "wings" on the Bowmaker logo are in opposite directions to those on the dish!

The one I linked to was upside down Kev, it was the back of a folded card. :)  This is how it really looks, which is the same as the dish logo...

Doh! Of course the image was upside down!

I really should not make comments when I am sleepy.  :)
