ID Help please Scandinavian, Chinese???
« on: May 02, 2015, 02:13:58 PM »
I picked this vase up today and my initial thought was that shape was Scandinavian, now not at all sure and hoping someone can recognise it, 9.5 inches tall it is a much deeper cobalt blue than it appears in photo. All thoughts much appreciated,John

I'd say Chinese to that one. The difference is in the colour. Chinese vases have a very thin inner white, almost like watered down milk, while Swedish and Italian vases in the same technique tend to have a bright white inner layer.

Thanks Ivo, that tip on the thin white lining is one I will definitely bear in mind when out and about
